Too bad php can't/doesn't take care of routing. Rails does - but that's another story.

mod_rewrite exist on all major web server (even IIS ;-) )
Sadly they use different syntax, but we could solve this by adding this to the wiki/documentation.

I strongly vote for going into this direction!
