[Owncloud] jQuery upload and busy spinner?

I was gonna have a go on both contact photo upload/edit and contact import.

Been trying to look through the code to see what is used for uploads and busy 
indicators, but it is a bit too obfuscated for me - except for the loading.gif 
;-)

Can anyone point me to a piece of code or some documentation that a jQuery 
newbie can comprehend?
