yes, but shouldn't the Test App “A dummy app to test installing and 
loading of apps” work?

The Owncloud log says


The Apache error log says
[Tue Feb 28 16:00:08 2012] [error] [client 217.76.111.33] File does not 
exist: /var/www/test, referer: http://<Server>/settings/apps.php?installed

every time I refresh the App page.

Hi Sven,

it´s possible that you app you want to install is broken somehow.
Can you please have a look at the log? Is there an error message?
