[Owncloud] Ampache authentication problems

I have tried several ampache clients (quickplay on Linux, and Just Player
on Android).
Neither one of them are able to authenticate.  They both fail the $key ==
$auth line in the handshake function.

Does the ampache functionality work with any other clients?  Which ones are
it tested against?

I'd be willing to get out my PHP book which I haven't touched in 5 years
and help.
