Just a quick point to the point that what Just Works for one person Just Doesn't for another,
Or, There's No True One Way.

So please, PLEASE, don't assume that there's no need for options. I suspect my heavily tinkered KDE setup would not be to many people's tastes, but I find it the best environment to work in.
