I think - imho ;-) - that it would be more 'elegant' to put it in the else
clause of OC_User::isLoggedIn().
If user_id is not present in $_SESSION a check for it in
$_SERVER['PHP_AUTH_USER'] could be made. It would probably require a helper
method for doing the actual authentication.
But you may be right. I will have to look a bit more on the code when I'm less
brain numb ;-)
