Thanks, seems to be working now, after using patch from above-mentioned bug
reports.

Workaround on Gentoo:

mkdir -p /etc/portage/patches/kde-apps/okular-26.04.3
cd /etc/portage/patches/kde-apps/okular-26.04.3
wget
https://invent.kde.org/graphics/okular/-/commit/1c08048b29e0d0106b47c8493b2ed8c2101668a7.patch
emerge -av1 okular
