Bug ID: 518722
Summary: When using a multi-monitor setup, Okular fails to
remember its current screen position. If moved to a
different screen and minimized, maximizing the window
causes it to jump back to the initial screen where it
was first opened.
Classification: Applications
Product: okular

Target Milestone: ---
Summary: When using a multi-monitor setup, Okular fails to remember its current
screen position. If moved to a different screen and minimized, maximizing the
window causes it to jump back to the initial screen where it was first opened.
Steps to Reproduce
Setup a system with 3 monitors.
Open Okular on Screen 3.
Drag the Okular window to Screen 2.
Minimize the window.
Maximize/Restore the window via the taskbar.
Observed Result
The Okular window reappears on Screen 3 (the original screen) instead of
remaining on Screen 2.
Expected Result
The window should maximize on the same screen where it was located before
minimization (Screen 2).
Environment & System Info
OS: Windows 11 25H2
Application: Okular (Windows Version)
Configuration: Taskbar set to "Show taskbar buttons on the taskbar where
the window is open."
Additional Notes
The user suspects a potential conflict with the Windows taskbar setting
("Show only open windows on respective screen"). This behavior suggests a
failure in the window manager's coordinate persistence during the
minimize/maximize transition.
