SUMMARY
I came across some pdf files that are similar to the one that I have attached
as an example.

These files appear with correct orientation in okular and occupy the full page
as it should. If I select "Print Preview" the page appears in portrait mode
too. When I send the file to the printer though the page is printed in portrait
mode and is scaled down to a corner of the page. To force okular to print the
page correctly I have to go to the printer properies and select orientation to
"Portrait" (it autoselected "Landscape" for some reason) and then also change
in the "PDF Options" of the print dialog the "Scaling mode" to "Fit to full
page".

If I use firefox or chrome to print the same file, it appears with correct
size/orientation.
