Summary: Okular interface hangs while waiting for network
                    printer I/O
    Classification: Applications
           Product: okular
      Version First 25.08.0
       Reported In:
          Platform: Other
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: printing
          Assignee: okular-devel at kde.org
          Reporter: m.lincetto at gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
When printing a document from Okular to a network printer, Okular hangs briefly
while the system waits for the printer to respond. In particular, it hangs
while the user waits for the "Print" dialog appear (few seconds), then it hangs
for some more time (can be about 10 s) while the document is being sent to the
printer. If the user tries to interact in this time frame, Plasma will mark the
Okular window as unresponsive. In particular, is is not possible to close the
Okular window immediately after clicking on "Print".

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a PDF in Okular
2. Print it to a network printer

OBSERVED RESULT
Okular hangs while the system waits on the printer to respond / while the
documents is being sent to the printer.

EXPECTED RESULT
Okular should be unaffected by the printer I/O.
