Bug ID: 489551
Summary: remember the print option "scale mode"
Classification: Applications
Product: okular
Version: 23.08.4
Platform: Ubuntu
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: printing
Assignee: okular-devel at kde.org
Reporter: dbyy at email.com
Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
I’m using okular v 23.08.4 as flatpak version.
I noticed that by default the print option “file → print → options → pdf
options → scale mode”) is set to
“fit to printable area”.
This is causing that the print will be “squeezed” and not at the full size of
the (letter) page.
Even when I’m changing this setting, the next time I’m opening Okular again it
has the
‘old’ value.
This is very annoying and every time when forgetting to change this setting,
I’m wasting sheets of paper.
It would be nice that Okular either
a) “remembers’ my last settings, or
b) an option is being added to the “Okular’ settings so that I can change it as
needed.
Thanks in advance
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open the option "file → print → options –> pdf options –> scale mode”.
2. Change the option from "fit to printable area" to "fit to full page"
3. Print a document
4. Close Okular and reopen it again
5. Check the settings of "Scale mode". It will be reverted to the unwanted
option "fit to printable area"
OBSERVED RESULT
Okular will revert the option to the initial settings of "fir to printable
area"
EXPECTED RESULT
Okular will remember my changed option at the last settings.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux Mint v20.3, Cinnamon
KDE Plasma Version:
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.115.0
Qt Version: 5.15.10
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I tried to find a config that may hold this option so that I can change it
according to my need. But I couldn't find any config file that holds this
option on my system.
