That's possible.  But then you will have free time to fix some other Okular bug
if you are interested.  There are lot's. :-)

BTW, have you checked whether your issue persists if you change from X11 to
Wayland or vice versa?

I don't think hidden config files have anything to do with this, but I may be
wrong.
