I'm sorry you don't like the new style. The title text does indeed respect your
font size, but it's a bit bigger than whatever the general size is because
it's, well, a title. :) We use larger fonts for titles all over the place. This
is a common paradigm.
It's true that the new view takes up a bit more vertical space, but it takes up
much less horizontal space. Space has to come from somewhere. :) No free lunch,
I'm afraid.
There is in fact a button to hide the whole sidebar which looks like it didn't
get added due to a different issue, which David alludes to. We're working on
fixing that. Sorry for the breakage. In the meantime you can add it yourself to
your toolbar.
