This is really confusing, i just booted my unused Windows Machine and i don't
get those artifacts either.

Can you confirm that when you have a pdf opened on the Help->About backend it
says poppler 0.85?

Did you create this file or someone else sent it to you?

Does renaming the file cause the artifacts to go away?
