How about using dock panels for Thumbnails, Bookmarks, etc.? The dock panel
stack would have a tab bar at the bottom, and if no dock panel is shown, they
can be activated using toolbar buttons.

This way it would also be possible to show e. g. Thumbnails and Reviews the
same time.

Currently it is done this way in Dolphin.
