Returning to this problem I have checked if this is specific to the Printer
driver WF-2530 Series, Epson Inkjet Printer Driver (ESC/P-R) for Linux () the
same result of 0 pages and no preview content occurs if I select another
printer  such as Google cloud print 1.0 (print to Google drive)
The Journal output for "Print Preview" with the Epson selected is:

Trying to resolve the "dbus-org.freedesktop.Avahi.service" issue as in
https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/31470 does not solve the issue. The result is
still "QImage::scaled: Image is a null image" etc
