I have the exact same problem with my Chase credit card statements.  I did not
see that you opened a bug at Freedesktop.org, so I did --
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=96856 .

Side note - if I open the exact same file using FireFox, it works perfectly.

Post a note if you find a solution (I am using Fedora Core 23).
