Wow, I've been wondering why this bug had been claimed as 'solved' years ago
while I've been running into it in every single multi-column document. Of
course, most of the pdfs I use have images on every page somewhere. Thanks for
looking into this, I feel relieved and hope that this really annoying bug can
be fixed soon. As soon as it will, I will be able to do all my annotations in
Okular!
