The evidence of the problem is in the message "Xlib:  extension "RANDR" missing
on display ":0".". Therefore, could you, please, do the following and show us
the results:
$ cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log | grep -i randr
and
$ xrandr -q

Do you, by chance, use Xinerama? Do you see the same message regarding RANDR
when you launch another GUI programs?
