You already can:
- Hide the menubar (File/Edit/View/…) in Settings → uncheck Show Menubar
- Hide the toolbar in Settings → uncheck Show Toolbar
- Move the toolbar to another side of the window or have it as free floating
window, right click the toolbar → Lock Toolbars and drag the toolbar around
using the handle that appears on the left of the toolbar
- Hide the status bar in Settings → Show page navigation bar. You can add a
Page indicator to the toolbar (like I do because the status bar wastes space)
by right clicking the toolbar, choosing Configure Toolbars, choosing Main
Toolbar <okular_part> and on the left there is a "Page number" widget that you
can add
- Make the icons on the left (content, preview, bookmarks) smaller by right
clicking and eg. unchecking Show Text and/or choosing a smaller icon size there
