May or may not. We do our own spatial analysis to detect stuff like text in two
columns outside of poppler so it works for all the text formats we support,
OTOH we may need something for poppler.

Anyway I'm the poppler maintainer and I'm going to give you the same answer
over there, don't hold your breath on this getting fixed (unless you want to
develop it yourself :-))
