Thanks Albert, I could get rid of naughtifications: added the lines [Sounds] No sounds=true Volume=0 to ~/.kde/share/config/knotifyrc which appears to be running even though I'm under xfce. Best wishes, Jocelyn PS: Found this other solution on a forum: sudo chmod -x /usr/bin/knotify4
