This has been fixed in 0.15 (KDE 4.9), where you get a confirmation prompt if
you attempt to close/reload a document with unsaved annotations (Do you want to
save your annotation changes or discard them?).
Note: the warning only shows up if you are working on a .okular archive or with
a PDF containing embedded annotations, because okular autosaves annotations
internally in the other cases.
