Sometimes it's nice that Okular remembers the last page, sometimes not. If I'm
reading a large text, it's nice. If I'm browsing through small files, it's
quite annoying.

An option of some sort would be good, but if I had to choose I'd prefer Okular
never remembering the last page.

I find the remark "given that basically everyone expects to reopen a document
in the same point where it was closed" a bit strange. First, I doubt there's
documentation to back the claim up. Second, programs like Openoffice Writer and
  Kword doesn't behave like this. Nor does any browser I know of.
