Summary: PDF text selection broken for multiple column files
           Product: okular
           Version: 0.12.2
          Platform: Ubuntu Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: PDF backend
        AssignedTo: okular-devel at kde.org
        ReportedBy: guilfordstuff at gmail.com

Version: 0.12.2 (using KDE 4.6.2)
OS: Linux

Most journal PDf files have 2-3 columns of text. The text selection tool
ignores those columns and so does the yellow highlighter tool (probably for the
same reason). Multi-column text selection works fine in Gnome Document Viewer
2.32.0 (of course, there is no editing feature). This bug also has a huge
impact on ability to cut text from a PDF.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Open multi-column PDF file
Select text from the right hand column
Notice that it selects text across the whole width of the page.

Expected Results:
Should only select from the column in use.

OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.38-8-generic
Compiler: cc
