You mean your father actually uses the left mouse drag to mouse around in the
document? I thought most people would just mouse wheel trough it.

Actually i see we already do what you want i.e. "providing a icon to disable
selection mode" so i think you should close this bug and then open different
wishes for:
 * I want a better icon in the browse mode
 * I want the cursor to change in selection mode
