Seriously I can't believe what is going on here...

There is a patch attached to this bug, which fixes the problem with as much as
30 lines of code... It is there for two years!!!

Would it be really that hard to check if it works and commit it to the SVN? Or
if it doesn't works, then update it maybe? I mean, if it took 30 lines of
coding 2 years ago, would it take now 3000? I don't think so...

But no... for two years, the patch is here at the bottom of this page, and no
one cares about it.

But on Planet KDE a developer of Okular points at this bug as one of the
reasons to leave the Okular team... sorry, but I truly can't understand this.

Every part of Okular's interface can be set to hidden... why the bottom bar
MUST stay as an exception from this rule? Why is it so important? Why is it
more special than the menu bar, the toolbar or the sidebar? What about
consistency?

It truly saddens me, that we have such debates around such a small feature...
such a small feature that would only take checking and correcting an already
existing patch.

Sadly I am not yet a developer myself to do it... but honestly, such events
really make me want to become one!
