and you wonder why people get pissed off with attitudes like yours.  changing
vote counts globally doesnt affect the position.  this is still the #3 desired
bug by the *users* according to bugzilla.

no one is asking for defaults to be changed.  people are asking for *a config
option* so that they can change an aspect *they personally* find annoying.  in
terms of simply making the thing go away, usability research is completely
irrelevant.

no, i havent written a patch, but if you read the bug report, you'd see someone
posted a patch 2 years ago to do what most people here want:
 4 files changed, 30 insertions(+), 5 deletions(-)
a diffstat like that doesnt imply a long review time ...
