I had the opposite problem, I get my PDF files printed in portrait, no matter
how they look like.

A goo dexample is a 2-page paper model, and accompanying instructions at
http://custompaperpocketyachts.k-j-g.com/papermodels/index.html

I get the instructions printed in portrait all right, but the model itself,
which is clearly a landscape layout, comes out as portrait too, with badly
cropped sides.

Printing the model in from kpdf works fine, so I don't think it is a problem in
my print subsystem.
