ok,
1] click at PDF file and Okular shows up and thumbnail/document tree sidebar on
the left side is opened.
2] click at Thumbnail icon in the left Icon bar (there are four icons)
->thumbnail sidebar disappear.
3] close Okular, click PDF file and let Okular shows up
4] thumbnail/document tree sidebar is again opened

=> I missing:
1] restore previous state of the sidebar
2] option to let sidebar closed as default
