I opened a PDF attachment in KMail with okular. Then, I stored it with "Save
as" as a separate file. Next I added some reviews/annotations.

After closing and reopening the file the annotations were lost!

Please note however, that this does not happen when the file is opened from
file system in first place. This way, annotations survive closing and reopening
okular.
