[Okular-devel] Okular do not keep text position after reloading a file

Hi Dear,

I am using Okular 0.11.2 (KDE 4.5.4) to visualize a file which resides
in a ramdisk (/dev/shm/thesis.dvi, on a Kubuntu 10.10 machine) instead
of in the harddisk.
After compiling the latex sources and generating a new .dvi, the
document is not automatically reloaded by Okular,
so a script executes the next command after recompiling:

okular --unique $1.dvi

This reloads de .dvi.
However, most of the times, after the reload happends, the visualization
text position is reseted to the beginning of the document.
This doesn't happen so often if instead of reloading from the script, I
just press F5 on the Okular document.

If the same document is in the harddisk instead of in the ramdisk,
everything is correct: the document is reloaded automatically, and the
text position unchanged.
(I work with the project in ramdisk because I want my noisy harddisk to
stop. If the project were in the harddisk, the continuously saving would
avoid it from going to sleep. It's a laptop with battery, so it's save
to work on ramdisk for long periods)

As a work around, I create a sym link to the latex directory in my home
tree. Loding the .dvi file from the symlink, although it is exactly the
same file than in ram, does automatically reload the file and keeps text
position.
However, I prefer the first method (file in ram and $okular --unique
...) because that way the document do not disappear while compiling.
The problem really is not that the document is not automatically
reloaded, but the reseting of the text position to the beggining.

Any idea of the issue?

Thanks a lot,
Pedro
