Good that you identified the precise source of misunderstanding.

I completely agree.

Notice that when I proposed my patch, the context was that Okular
didn't offer any option for controlling that, instead that was handled
in the individual generators. In that context, my patch made sense.
Now that you propose to add a global config option, the context has
changed, and my patch is no longer relevant.

OK no need to be sorry. Rereading it it wasn't much harm.

That's OK for me, as long as the results appear in 4.4, I think that
all is great. It doesn't affect me personnally anymore since I have
rebuilt poppler and okular with my small patches.
