Sorry, it is a KDE wide problem. Okular is the only KDE program I print from
on a regular basis, so I did not notice this. I should probably file the bug
elsewhere then.
Just to finish answering the question, though its probably of no use to you
now:
cups version: 1.3.9-17ubuntu3.2
network printer (though the program hangs before the print dialogue shows up
and a printer is chosen...)
