I tried to compile okular myself. This way: 
svn co svn://anonsvn.kde.org/home/kde/trunk/KDE/kdegraphics -N
cd kdegraphics
svn up cmake
svn up libs
svn up okular
mkdir build
cd build
cmake ../
cd okular
make

I got binary in shell/okuler, but it uses something from my system, not my
modified sidebar.cpp. 

How I should work if I want just play with some files and look out what
happens?
(modify little, compile, run, modify, compile, run...)
