I can confirm this behaviour on Kubuntu, KDE 4.2.90 (KDE 4.3 Beta2), packages
from the Kubuntu Backports PPA:
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/backports/ubuntu jaunty main

PDF printing works from GhostView.
Changing margins setting doesn't change anything.
