Save as saves any possible modification you have made to the file, save a copy
does not save modifications, the problem is that you are trying to save a file
that poppler (the underlying layer in the system that handles pdf files)
doens't know how to save, so saving fails.

Not much we can do here unless someone fixes poppler. (And i'm the poppler
maintainer and i don't think i have time to fix that)
