I don't think this is a good idea. Well, not the way it has been done.

It would be better if this was transparently handled by the FileIndexerConfig, and it not be saved in the config file. If we do not save it in the config file then we don't need to have a special case for it in the KCM.

Also, considering that that this "data" directory is generally present in a hidden folder. I'm not sure if this will work. Did you test it?
