New to QT development. Help?

Hello all,

I saw a post about an opportunity to learn and contribute to KDE as I
always wanted to do something for an open source project, and I'm starting
with some basic things, but right now I've some questions about the dev
environment:

I have a host machine with Kubuntu 17.04 and a VM guest (virtualbox) with
Neon, so: can I use QT Creator to remotely build in the VM?

Is there any alternative besides installing Qt Creator in the VM and code
in there?

For now I basically installed openssh on the guest and mounted the folder I
needed, so I can edit files from the host machine, but obviously can't
compile anything or properly use the IDE.

Thanks.
