[neon] Difference between dev-stable and dev-unstable in terms of KDE source code versions?

What's the difference between the dev-stable and dev-unstable builds in
terms of version of, say, plasma?

Does dev-stable pull off git current released version branch
work-in-progress, meaning plasma is the in-development 5.6.x series?

Does dev-unstable pull off git master, meaning it's the work-in-progress
version for plasma-next, meaning plasma 5.7 (aka 5.6.9x) ?

Apologies if this is already asked and answered somewhere, please let me
know or point me to the info.

I understand the user edition is built off KDE published release version
source packages and not directly off git?

Thanks!
