Nextcloud maps API to sync with gnome Maps

Dear Marble Developers,
At the nextcloud project work at the maps app continues and the is an Active 
discussion about an API to sync with Gnome Maps under https://github.com/
nextcloud/maps/issues/30.
I was woundering if this API would be interessting for Marble and if changes 
would be needed to be usefull. I think now would be a good time to have 
influence on the API design.
