[Marble-devel] red circle artifact at lon/lat 0/0 by marble widget

Hi,
I'm having a strange issue: if I include MarlbeWidget in a Qt
application, it displays a red dot at lon/lat 0/0, where the circle is
drawn so that the left side of the circle aligns with the meridian,
while the top side of the circle aligns with the equator. the size of
the circle seems to be tied to the window - thus when zooming out, the
size of the circle as compared to Earth increases.
I wonder what is generating this artifact? I can send a screenshot if
desired.
This artifact manifests itself even when doing very minimal coding, e.g.
with the very basic code sample found on this page:
http://techbase.kde.org/Projects/Marble/MarbleCPlusPlus
This all happens with a manually compiled marble version 1.2.0, on an
Ubuntu 11.04 64 bit system.
I wonder how one can turn off this red circle.
