According to http://code.google.com/p/qextserialport/ the qextserialport library is BSD license. That would be ok for marble, BUT in general copying a library into the applications source code would result into a lot of maintaining work (checking for updates, etc.).
IIRC the qextserialport is only needed for the serial port support, right? Couldn't we then simply have qextserialport as an optional depency and make the serial port support optional?
IMHO that would be the best option.
