Note that you can also see this in action together with the new
right-click-and-drag rotation:
1. Pick the globe view (rather than one of the projections).
2. Left-click-and-drag the globe vertically to rotate it, until it is upside
down.
3. Now right-click-and-drag it to be upside up again.
4. Try to left-click-and-drag the globe horizontally.
and you get a view that's optically indistinguishible from the view before step
2, but rotates the wrong way in step 4.

But this bug also happens without using the new right-click-and-drag rotation
at all.
