            Bug ID: 375469
Summary: Polygon ruler: displayed values of area in km² are
                    huge for non-convex polygons
           Product: marble
           Version: 2.1 (KDE Applications 16.12)
          Platform: Other
                OS: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: marble-bugs at kde.org
          Reporter: kdemarble at dontsendmespam.de
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 103606

Screenshot: perimeter 70 m, area 255 million km²

When you add measure points such that the area enclosed by the route along the
points is not convex, then the area is not calculated (or displayed) correctly.
It seems that there are "negative" areas, but the little info box does only
show unsigned values of roughly 255 million km².

Steps to reproduce:
Place three measure points like in "N" oder "Z".
(It works for any odd number of points on a zig-zag-line as well.)

Easy solution: allow negative values and let the user know that 255 million is
actually a miscalculation

Best regards,
Mario Holldack
