The current shortcut for zooming on the map is " + ".
If your keyboard doesn't have a numpad (eg netbook), 
you have to press  "Shift + = ", to get a " + ".
That's not very practical.

Maybe you should change the zoom shortcut from " + " to " = ",
or, better, have them both working.
