from some other program – how it could look like

It is possible to select how you want to select the printed/exported area
(Window, Printers paper size (the visible area in the window is assumed to be
centered on page), By mouse rectangle (pull up a rectangle using the mouse), by
mouse clicks (define a rectangle by clicking the upper left corner and the
lower right one), or by giving the upper left and lower right coordinates), and
the scale to export/print at (some common scales are predefined, but you may
define your own).
Some functionality like this could make marble more useful for a lot of people!
