Original post was to add sea names to marble - seems that this can be solved by
adding integration with geonames.org service. This is a huge database of
geolocation names including country names, ocean names and seanames which is
available under Creative Commons license. All names are available under
multiple languages and also have geolocation info attached (lon/lat or even
bounds for reverse geocoding). All info is available for online queries or as
downloadable db dump. I think integration with geonames.org might be a big step
forward for marble.
