Issues after building a plugin

Hello!

I followed the tutorial on the docs for building a plugin, but the tutorial
was for kf5 and I’m using kf6 so I changed where it said kf5 to kf6. I just
copied the color picker plugin and it shows up in kate. I was originally
using the example from the tutorial but it had the same issue I will
describe.

     I’m getting “kf.coreaddons: KPluginFactory could not create a
KTextEditor::Plugin instance from “/Applications/
kate.app/Contents/PlugIns/kf6/ktexteditor/katecolorpicker.so”

I’m using Kate version 24.07.70, which is using KDE frameworks version
6.1.0. I’m on MacOs with an arm processor.

Do you know what the issue could be? If you need more info I can respond
