Kate macros/shortcuts?

Hi,
I was wondering if it is possible to write a macro or map shortcuts in
order to paste in KATE some text strings.
In particular I was seeking for a method to speed up shell scripting (so,
for example, with Ctrl+F you can enter a draft of an IF statement, etc.).
